Sarah Redfern Public School Marks Harmony Day 2026 Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion
Sarah Redfern Public School proudly celebrated Harmony Day 2026 on Wednesday 18 March, bringing together students, families, and staff to recognise cultural diversity and strengthen community connections. The event highlighted our commitment to inclusion, belonging, and multicultural education, showcasing the welcoming and supportive environment that defines our school.
On Tuesday 17 March, we proudly celebrated the induction of our newly elected student leaders. As they begin their leadership journey, we commend their commitment to making a positive impact within our school community.
Their enthusiasm and dedication set a wonderful example, and we are confident they will help nurture a culture of respect, inclusivity, and achievement. Congratulations to each of youโyour leadership makes a difference!
Wests Tigers Visit Sarah Redfern Public School to Promote Healthy Lifestyles
Sarah Redfern Public School recently welcomed Wests Tigers players Royce Hunt and Heamasi Makasini, who spoke to students about the importance of healthy lifestyle choices, including good nutrition, hydration, limiting screen time, and getting enough sleep.
Students enjoyed hearing from the NRL players and learning how these habits support wellbeing and performance. We thank the Wests Tigers for inspiring our students and supporting a culture of health and wellbeing.
Former SRPS Student Achieves International Futsal Success
Sarah Redfern Public School proudly celebrates former student Xander De Jong, who represented Australia at the U16 World Futsal Championship in Malaysia, where the team finished as runners-up.
Xander was also named the tournamentโs highest goal scorer, highlighting his dedication and talent. We congratulate him on this outstanding achievement and wish him continued success.
Deadly Awards Assembly ๐๐๐
We are incredibly proud of all our students who received awards at our recent Deadly Award Assembly! Your hard work, dedication, and achievements shine brightly. Today we celebrate YOU โ our wonderful young learners, leaders, and role models. ๐๐
A warm thank you to the Aboriginal Elders Community for joining us and sharing their presence. Your wisdom, guidance, and support enrich our school and help our students grow. You are always valued and welcomed as part of our SRPS family. ๐๐

Harmony Day 2025
Harmony Day is a time for us to celebrate Australiaโs many cultures and come together as a welcoming, inclusive school community. It reminds us to show respect, kindness, and acceptance, and to create a sense of belonging for everyone.
Harmony Day also encourages us to recognise that we all belong. When we learn from one another and celebrate our unique backgrounds, we grow together as a stronger, more connected school community. Every studentโs story matters, and together we help create a place where everyone feels valued and supported.

Our students had an incredible time at the Annual STEAM Showcase, hosted by Sarah Redfern High School!
A day filled with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics, the event was the perfect playground for our fun, inquisitive, and creative thinkers. ๐งช๐ค๐จ๐

Naidoc Week
Our school focused on the 2025 theme, "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy," to honor the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Here is a sample of the activites undertaken as a community.
A range of activities were arranged to celebrate with some examples below:
- Indigenous games and art
- Musical performances by First Nations artists
- Welcome to Country ceremonies led by local Elders
- Student-led speeches on culture and community
๐ Sarah Redfern Multicultural Parade โ Celebrating Our Rich Diversity! ๐
One of our most cherished events, the Multicultural Parade brings our school community together to celebrate the cultures that make Sarah Redfern shine. Students proudly participated in a vibrant Parade of Nations, carrying flags that represent their heritage and showcasing unity and inclusion.
Students, staff and families embraced the day through traditional dress and engaging cultural performances, sharing music, dance and stories. This joyful celebration reminds us that our diversity is our strength. ๐๐ค
Inclusive Sports Day Excursion
Students recently participated in the NSW School Sport Unitโs Inclusive Sports Day, a fantastic event celebrating participation, teamwork, and inclusion.
The day provided students from Kโ12, across support, SSP, and mainstream settings, with the opportunity to experience a wide range of sports in a supportive and encouraging environment. All activities were modified and adapted to suit the needs of every student, ensuring everyone could take part, have fun, and experience success.
Students rotated through a variety of sports including AFL, basketball, cricket, football, goalball, netball, table tennis, and more, learning new skills and enjoying the spirit of friendly competition.
Our students attending a farm excursion
During our recent farm excursion, students immersed themselves in authentic agricultural learning. From feeding and caring for animals to discovering how crops grow, the day offered rich, hands-on experiences that supported their understanding of sustainability, food production, and rural life. The excursion sparked curiosity and gave students a deeper appreciation for the environment.
